One misty Autumn morning a group of friends and I set out to explore the woods between Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. It was a uniquely perfect day – thick mist and yet the sun shone brightly too. Each spiderweb was perfectly bejewelled in dew and golden leaves littered the path. Never having been there before we just picked a path at random and followed it. Imagine our surprise when this vast rocky edifice loomed out from the fog at us! I’ve since learned Hell Hole Rocks is an old quarry and a popular spot with rock climbers.
